UK Golf Federation Board Meeting – Textron Head Offices

The UK Golf Federation held its Board Meeting at the Textron Golf Head Offices in Ipswich – The UK Golf Federation represents the proprietary golf course and driving range owners with over 300 members and has a key directive "to grow golf participation through its open access to golf”.

The board is always looking for new ways to develop golf participation and involve the communities local to their golf facilities and new initiatives were discussed to help get more women involved in trying golf and making the game a more "family event” with new forms of starting and playing the game.

The UK Golf Federation also look to partner with all the key stakeholders in the golf industry. Their view is that many of the initiatives have so far failed to ignite the non-golfing public into trying golf, and they feel it now needs more and better marketing and selling into the communities to spark a real increase in number of new players joining the game.

The members of the UK Golf Federation are showing an increase in their business and their message to golf facilities is "Grow Participation – Grow your Bottom Line” Yes! More players for any golf course will help grow profit margins.

The meeting concluded with a tour of the factory. Amazing! It really starts with sheets of steel entering one end of the factory with new shining machines departing the other end for customers. Textron Golf is a Corporate Partner of the UK Golf Federation with many of its members using the Ransomes Jacobsen machines and also the E-Z-G-O carts in their businesses. Uniquely many of these are fully manufactured totally in the Ransomes Jacobsen factory- Ipswich - UK  – maybe a good Donald Trump quote!
