PRESS RELEASE – UK Golf Federation – 17 December 2019 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 2019 – Members Report - A good Year for Golf Participation

With many golf clubs appearing to have struggled over the last few years with dropping membership, this was viewed as a very positive move in getting golf participation back on track for the future.

The membership of the UK Golf Federation has grown substantially in 2019 and now has over 550 golf clubs and driving ranges as members. This represents a growth of over 300%. Doug Poole CEO of the UK Golf Federation believes the key to this huge growth is down to the valuable range of business benefits programmes available to members and confirms "Currently there are 14 benefits to membership of which 8 are completely free and this is set to grow in 2020 as more key benefits to business are brought into the membership package”.

Also, Corporate Partners such as Clubcar, John Deere, Toro and Textron Golf who are partners with the UK Golf Federation, bring extra support in helping members make key decisions on equipment, golf course management and maintenance. Stop Press! New Corporate Members joining in 2020.

The UK Golf Federation believe it key that they work with all the major associations and stakeholders in the industry to find ways of growing participation and ultimately membership. So, now having over 550 golf facility members the UK Golf Federation who offer an easy and relaxed pathway to trying golf, look to become more involved with supporting key stakeholders in growing golf participation though their open access golf facilities.
